Privacy Policy
Rumor Technology, Inc.
Effective date: January 1, 2026
Last updated: January 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Rumor Technology, Inc. ("Rumor Technology," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information through our website at https://rumortechnology.com (the "Site") and our AI Front Desk service (the "Service"). The Service answers phone calls, books appointments, and sends informational text messages for businesses that use it (our "Business Customers"), such as HVAC, plumbing, and med spa businesses, including shops in South Florida.
If you call or text a business that uses the Service, this Policy explains how we handle your information for that business. The business's own privacy policy may also apply.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information you give us
- Contact details, such as your name, phone number, email address, and service address.
- Appointment details, such as the service you need, preferred date and time, and notes you share during a call or text.
- Messages and replies you send to us by SMS, including keywords like STOP or HELP.
- Information you enter on our Site forms, such as an SMS opt-in or contact form.
b. Call information
- Call recordings and transcripts. Calls to businesses that use the Service may be answered by an AI assistant and recorded and transcribed. At the start of each call, callers hear a disclosure that the call is answered by an AI assistant and may be recorded. If you do not consent, you can hang up or ask to be connected to a person (where available). We provide this notice because Florida requires the consent of all parties to record a call (Fla. Stat. § 934.03).
- Call metadata, such as caller ID, phone number, date, time, duration, language used (English, Spanish, or Portuguese), and call outcome.
c. Information collected automatically on our Site
- Device and usage data, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring URLs. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies.
- For SMS opt-in forms, we record consent details: the date and time, the page and consent language shown, your IP address, and the phone number you entered. We keep these records as proof of consent, as carriers and messaging providers require.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- answer and route calls, give callers information, and take messages for Business Customers;
- schedule, confirm, reschedule, or cancel appointments, including in the Business Customer's Google Calendar;
- send the informational text messages you requested or agreed to receive, such as missed-call text-backs, booking confirmations, and appointment reminders, and to process STOP and HELP requests;
- create call recordings, transcripts, and summaries for the Business Customer you contacted;
- provide quality assurance, customer support, troubleshooting, security, and fraud prevention;
- improve and maintain the Service; and
- meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not use your information to send marketing text messages unless you have separately given express written consent to marketing messages. The SMS program described in our SMS Terms is for informational messages only.
3. SMS / Text Messaging and Mobile Information
The text program is called Rumor Technology. It is for informational messages about calls and appointments. It is not a marketing list.
Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent to any third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
That limit does not cover the service providers listed in Section 4 (for example, the company that delivers the texts). We share information with them only to deliver the messages and services you asked for, and they may not use it for their own marketing.
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help. See our SMS Terms & Conditions at https://rumortechnology.com/sms-terms.html.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only as follows:
- With the Business Customer you contacted. When you call or text a business that uses the Service, we share your call details, recordings, transcripts, messages, and appointment information with that business so it can serve you.
- With service providers that operate the Service on our behalf. These providers act under contracts that limit their use of the information to providing services to us:
- Retell AI: AI voice agent, call handling, recording, and transcription;
- Twilio: telephone numbers, call routing, and SMS delivery;
- Google (Google Workspace, Google Calendar, Google Sheets): appointment scheduling and record keeping;
- n8n and/or Make: workflow automation that connects the above systems;
- website hosting: Hostinger hosts the Site. The Site does not load a Google Analytics or Google Ad Manager tag yet. If we turn one on later, we will name it in this Policy.
- AI providers. Some of these service providers may use third-party AI models to process call audio and text so they can run the Service. We share that information so they can provide the Service. We do not authorize them to use it for their own marketing.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information to comply with law, a subpoena, or court order, to protect rights, safety, and property, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction under this Policy. SMS opt-in data and consent will not be transferred for marketing purposes.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above or as the law requires. Our general retention periods are:
- call recordings and transcripts: 90 days, unless the Business Customer needs a particular record longer for an open appointment or a complaint;
- SMS consent and opt-out records: for as long as you are subscribed, plus 5 years after you opt out, as proof of consent and opt-out;
- appointment records: while we need them to provide the booking and to answer follow-up questions about it. After that we delete them or strip the identifying details. A Business Customer may ask us to keep or delete a record on a different schedule, and we keep a record longer when the law requires it.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, such as access controls and encrypted connections, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Text messages: Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or contact us at info@rumortechnology.com.
- Call recording: You may decline recording by hanging up or asking for a person (where available).
- Access, correction, deletion: You may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting info@rumortechnology.com. We may need to verify your identity. If we process the information on behalf of a Business Customer, we may refer your request to that business or work with it to respond.
- Cookies: You can control cookies in your browser settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law. We will honor those rights as applicable.
8. Health-Related Information (Med Spas)
The Service is built to schedule appointments. It is not a medical record system, and we do not offer it as a HIPAA product. Please do not share medical history or other sensitive health details on a call or by text. A Business Customer that needs to handle protected health information should not use the Service for that information unless we have signed an agreement that covers it.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. SMS programs are intended for adults 18+ or the account holder of the mobile number.
10. International Users
We operate in the United States, and information is processed in the United States.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated as required by law.
